Purpose

Our world is full of competing demands that do not resolve into a simple either/or: be flexible and consistent, move fast and stay careful, grow and protect, innovate and rely on what works.

This short exercise collects real examples from your industry or professional world. You find a public article, name the competing demands you see, and note whether they fit a research framework of leadership tensions (both/and pairs such as “speed to presence”).

Your contribution helps Dr. Robert Hausmann study how these patterns show up across sectors—and how a tensions framework can become clearer, better evidenced, and more useful for teaching and practice. This is data collection for research and learning, not a test. About the research project.

What you will do (about 15–25 minutes)

1. Enter with access code opensky (or your private group code if you have one).
2. Find a current public article worth examining.
3. Summarize what happened and name the competing demands.
4. Optionally link those demands to framework labels (or mark Unmapped).
5. Submit. You may download a simple one-pager of what you wrote.

There is no single correct answer. Unmapped is valid. Public links only—no confidential material.
